Each year Bailgate Rotary Club awards a throphy and a cheque for £200 to either an individual or a group whom in the opinion of the club has gone the extra mile with their service to society. This year it has been awarded to the LIncoln Sea Cadets charity who are based on the Brayford Pool in Lincoln. The staff of volunteers instruct and educate young people from 10 years of age to 18 years of age in life skills for the future. These include discipline, leadership, self confidence, qualifications for the future, honesty and respect in a Sea Cadet and Marine cadet environment. Lt Cdr (SCC) Louise Everett RNR and SLt (SCC) Andrew Kirk (RNR) introduced 3 of their senior cadets to the club who each gave a very inspiring talk about their experiences and time so far in the Sea Cadets and the Royal Marine Cadets. Over the years these Cadets have won a number of National competitions in Drill and sailing a great credit to them and the volunteers that run the charity.
